There's a lot of high-level SEO information out there to help Realtors thrive, and search engine marketing is a practice that includes an immense level of detail. But sometimes we need to take a step back from the fine tuning and look at the bigger picture.

The 5 real estate SEO tips in today's post help agents focus on that big picture and create a website that's well optimized.

5. Keep your community area focused

When starting your site off, pick a city or handful of communities, and then focus. Create as much content as you can about that area, write everything you know about it, go out and take photos that nobody else has, and ultimately make your site the single best resource out there for learning about real estate in it.

website decisionChoosing whether you need your own autonomous domain can seem overwhelming, but the decision becomes a lot easier when you understand the main differences between autonomous sites and subdomain sites.

First, let's take a quick look at the difference between subdomains and autonomous domains. To properly grasp the difference, we have to understand that domains come in three levels.

The extension you choose for your domain—most likely .com or .ca in North America—is called the top-level domain (TLD). A TLD tells everybody which section of the world wide web your site belongs to, and is typically organized by country or region.

The second level comes from the unique identifier you give that TLD, and it's what we commonly refer to as "domain name".

Vision is the most visually stunning website we've ever created, and it was thanks to the hard work of several phenomenal people. We met up with the project's design lead, Phil Pond, and programming lead, Michael Griffiths, to find out what went on behind the scenes. Read on for a peak behind the scenes of our new Vision website.

Please note this interview has been modified for length and continuity.

Phil and Michael

What was the vision behind Vision?

PP: The team's initial thoughts were around showcasing VR and we were really excited about it. I really wanted to simplify a lot of things, so I brought that in. We don't need so much complexity in a website all the time, and we got to spend a lot of time refining the design and making it more flexible.

In this blog, I'll tell you how to use the world wide web to get more real estate buyer leads.

Step 1: Create an engaging foundation

When we're planning to target buyers, we first need to ask ourselves an important question:

"What are buyers looking for?"

Remember that people go online to answer a question or find information, and real estate buyers are no different. Every online search starts with a question that needs an answer.

Most buyers are interested in viewing real estate listings,

If you're in the real estate space, you've likely heard the term "IDX". And if you're on this blog right now, you probably even know about "IDX websites". But do you really understand what IDX is, or what it means for your site?

In this blog post, we're going to talk about what IDX is, why it exists, and how we use it to make awesome real estate websites.

Let's get started!

IDX is the abbreviated form of "Internet Data Exchange", and it's basically a set of rules and data feeds that enable Realtors to share MLS data on their website. Website vendors (like us!) use the IDX to display listings on a website, and real estate sites as we know them today simply couldn't exist without it.

Why the IDX was created

In the past, the only person who

iOSApple has made some big waves with the release of their new mobile operating system on September 12, with one change in particular making headlines: Apple included an update to Safari that launched Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP), instantly changing how remarketers can use cookies to track users' activities across the web.

ITP uses machine learning to identify sites that are using third-party cookies, and then partitions those cookies after a day, disabling many advertisers' abilities to track users as they interact with the web.

The official release of ITP caused quite a stir among the advertising community, but what does it mean for Realtors?

First, let's talk about cookies...

Many people are already familiar with cookies—not only the
