360 camera example

It's an exciting time for real estate technology, as we step into the world of virtual reality through 360 images and other VR experiences. As many of you know, our brand new VR website features 360 immersion, allowing your clients and website viewers to take a step into a listing or community, right from the comfort of home.

While we recommend using a professional photographer for your 360 Home page images and property listing photos, a DIY solution can work well for impressing prospective clients during listing presentations, and is a great addition to your sales pitch.

In order to bring property photos to life, realtors will need a 360 camera. 360 cameras take two or more images simultaneously, then automatically stitch them together to

seo content experimentsI've been thinking a lot about "big picture" SEO strategies, and how we can apply them to the real estate industry. To start, there's convincing evidence that page one content continues to get longer, yet each industry also has its own content trends.

Over the past couple weeks, I ran an experiment to help determine a better content baseline for the real estate industry. I looked at page one results for "[city] real estate" for 22 major cities across the United States and Canada, and recorded the amount of content on each of the top results.

This experiment gave me a better idea of what our clients' competition is doing, and helps set new content targets, based on the average number of words on top-performing pages.

The result? 1,568 words.

email marketing with CASLLast Updated: June 23, 2017.

We've received a few questions lately about impending Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation changes, and just wanted to take the opportunity to help clear some things up.

Let's start with a disclaimer that this is only one interpretation of CASL and its implications, and you should review the original legislation and seek proper legal counsel if you think CASL may impact your business in any way.

This post is going to focus on email marketing, but remember that CASL applies to any commercial electronic message, which includes emails, texts, instant messaging, social media messages, and so forth.

Back when CASL first went into affect on July 1, 2014, the legislation included a three year transition period to help

So, you want to be #1 on Google. It's the most common reason people stumble upon SEO, and ultimately look to hire a real estate SEO expert. While there are plenty of high quality experts out there, it can be hard to identify them and there are still some shady folks out there looking to make a fast buck off trusting real estate agents who are none-the-wiser.

Hiring the wrong person can be a costly, if not devastating expense, which is why we want to help you choose the right expert from the get-go. Here are some important qualities you'll find in a real estate SEO expert worth hiring:

Last month, I was putting together the final touches on the perfect page. Everything looked fantastic, and I sent it to one of the developers I had been working with, for a final technical review of the content.

"The image is blurry."cinque terre low res on ipad

Pardon? I know my way around an image or two and was confident he made a mistake. I triple-checked for the second time, and confirmed it wasn't blurry in any of my desktop's browsers.

Satisfied, I shared my conclusion with the developer. His response?

"Use your iPad."

...And there it was. A perfectly optimized, strategically placed, undeniably blurry image.

What happened?

High resolution screens, that's what. We've been so caught up in speed optimizing our real estate websites that developers are only

The Challenge

PPC case study 1Gary Zimmel first came to Real Estate Webmasters because he wanted a new website for his brokerage, Challenge Realty, in Edmonton, AB. That website, MyEdmontonHomeFinder.com, went live on January 6, 2015, and a PPC campaign for the site was launched January 16, 2015.

Gary started a PPC campaign because he wanted a website that would pay for itself, while also helping his real estate team of close to 100 agents secure more clients. New agents would be able to get a foot in the door, while experienced agents would have a steady stream of client traffic.

"The reason why we started Pay Per Click was to not only help our new people out, but to help established realtors, if they

1. What is your position at REW?

As Director of the Product Development team, I currently support a talented group of team leads, designers, programmers and developers in launching REW's suite of technologies.

2. What does a typical day look like for you?

The general cycle is pretty simple, I start with a plan for the day and complete the objectives I had set out. There are typically 3 key areas I focus on:

A) Projects - are they on schedule and within the scope of work and quality expected? A daily scrum meeting takes place every morning on the major projects with the purpose of understanding every team member's achievements from the day before, what they have planned for the current day, and what the barriers are for continuing their
