Action Plans - Emails

When an action plan has an email as an assigned tasks (automated or not) for example in a drip email, when sending the email it does not complete the tasks.

The only way to remove it from my view after being sent, is to either snooze or dismiss the task and then enter why I am snoozing or dismissing the task.

Should this be done elsewhere or just configured differently so that they can be marked complete and out of sight out of mind.
