Embedding Social Media Posts on Homepage

I just saw the new website of one of my competitors (not REW) and he’s embedded his latest Instagram posts into his homepage with links to follow him and react to the posts. I think that’s pretty cool. Has anyone else seen this and is this something that REW can work on for our sites? It looks like a fairly simple embed code.

Hey Jhnyguitar,

Great question! You can easily embed your favourite Instagram post directly to your website by following these easy steps!

  1. Find the Instagram post that you would like to embed.
Once you find your photo, click on it to enlarge it.

  2. On the right side of the photo click the ellipsis (it may be near the top of the photo or the bottom depending on your screen size).

  3. Select “Embed” from the list of options.

  4. Click “Copy Embed Code”, you can choose to include your caption or just show your photo.

  5. Head back to the backend of your website.

  6. Navigate to “content” and select the big blue “+Add New” button and choose “snippet”.

  7. Paste your code into the snippet and give it a title.

  8. You can now paste this snippet onto any content page to see the Instagram post.
Find the page you would like to see your post on, paste the snippet name in the Wysiwyg editor and add hashtags before and after to display your post on the front end of the website.

After seeing this post, I did some research and came across this website: https://curator.io/

It allows you to embed your entire feed and profile… I decided to go with my Facebook Page as I feel people are more active on FB as opposed to IG but they offer an IG connection to. It’s also free to use.
