I’m testing the Google One Tap registration option on my site and I noticed that every time I return my site and “log” back in with the one tap option I receive another new lead email email and subsequently another push notification. There’s a lead profile already in place and the system doesn’t create 2 leads but it does send 2 emails/push notifications which is a little confusing. Not sure if that’s by design but is anyone else using the One Tap? If so, are you seeing the same thing?
Do you have any automations set up? Or notifications for returning leads?
On one tap, it would be rare (I think) that someone (who is likely always logged into their Google account) to log out and have to log back in (so this should be a super rare happenstance either way) but @aporter an team are happy to investigate.
I would think the same as well. I was just testing it from 2 different browsers and noticed it happen.
Currently I only have 2 automations set. One to send me an email when an old lead views a property and one when a new lead views a property.
Hi @MattFranklin! I just checked on my end and it does seem like a new bug which seems to only be affecting google one-tap. I’ve brought this to our team and added it to our September release’s scope. ![]()
Thanks Fernando! Appreciate that!
Hey @FernandoOrtiz and @Morgan, I sent out a bunch of emails today and had a few stale leads pop back on to my site. They had already registered but when they came back to the site they used the one tap to login. I received a few push notifications that a lead form was submitted. Obviously that makes sense since they did essentially register in a different way but still kind of strange behavior. Just thought I would share this experience.
Hey @MattFranklin! It might be part of the same bug, even if the lead registers differently, logging in with one-tap is notifying the agent. Do you know if they did submit a form? or was it the one-tap login that notified you?
Correct. All they did was visit the site again and the One Tap option popped up so they selected it to login. It’s essentially the same thing that I did when I was testing it so behavior should be the same. I just wanted to let you know that although it’s probably not a norm for most people it will happen with my site because I’m just now adopting one tap. All of the leads that are coming back and visiting, even if logged in the one top still pops up for them so my guess is they will pick it out of habit.
That makes sense! We’ll make sure to cover those scenarios during our QA testing of the fix, thanks for bringing this up! ![]()
