Hello all -
If like you you’re using “Sources” in the CRM to track your ROI, there is a small bug I found and I thought I’d let you know about it. It’s actually technically not a “bug” but rather an issue that comes up under a very specific use case.
The issue is this: (retroactive addition to source)
If you set up a source from the very beginning (let’s say Google PPC) and then all leads automatically go into that source on capture you have no issue at all. Everything works since the “created date” and the “added to source” date are the same.
If however you’re playing catch up and you set up your source later, and then go back and add leads to that source, the “timeline” filter on sources actually looks at the date the lead was added to the source, not the date the lead was created.
This can throw off some of the calculations around conversion rate and CPL -
The fix is super easy - change that date the CRM looks at from “date added to source” to “date lead is created” and we’re all good! I’ve already approved this patch and it will come out in a few weeks along with a bunch of exciting new features.
However in the meantime, if you ran into this using that specific scenario (retroactively assigning leads to a source) - that’s what’s going on, it’s a bit counter intuitive so we’re going to make it better
Cheers
