Giving Back to our Communities
Real Estate Webmasters is dedicated to our community, because we love where we live. We also know that coming together to achieve a common goal is a powerful thing, and we're proud of the work we do to unify our cities.
REW and our staff support a number of causes and charities on an ongoing basis. This act of giving back is our small way of saying "thank you" to the communities and people that continue to support our growth.
Here are some of the previous opportunities we've had to give back to our community:
It began with the Ice Bucket Challenge, in which Morgan Carey raised money for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. From there, Real Estate Webmasters become further involved with the organization, raising additional funds for ALS research.
Child Development Centre (Silly Boat Regatta)
REW is an annual sponsor and team participant in the Child Development Centre's Silly Boat Regatta. This regatta challenges corporate and family teams from the Nanaimo area to build the silliest boat possible, then race them in the ocean waters of the Swy-A-Lana Lagoon.
The annual charity even is the primary fundraiser for the Child Development Centre, whose mandate is "to provide individualized services for children with developmental needs, from birth to age 19, and their families that promote optimum child development".
Hope For Wildlife
Morgan's daughter is an animal-lover to the core, and watching Hope for Wildlife before bed had become a well-loved family tradition. It was only a matter of time before Morgan decided to get more involved, and make a formal donation to the admirable organization. Read the full story here!
Hope For Wildlife is an animal rescue and rehabilitation organization run by Hope Swiminer. From seals to hares, deer to mountain lions, Hope is there when wildlife needs help.
Nanaimo Area Land Trust
The Nanaimo Area Land Trust (NALT) is a small but effective community organization, dedicated to promoting and protecting natural land in the Nanaimo region.
Mount Benson, the Nanaimo River, and Linley Valley have all been part of the NALT's previous conservation efforts. The NALT also operates a Native Plant Nursery, to encourage our community to plant and nourish greenery that's local to B.C.
REW sponsored Camp Imadene in response to an employee's charity nomination. He explained, "Many of these kids have never been to a summer camp before and their parents can't afford to send them. If we win the money it will be used to help pay for as many kids as possible to have an amazing camp experience."
Eleven amazing kids got to experience the joys of summer camp because of Real Estate Webmasters, and it is our hope that many more will attend in the future.
Some of our sponsorships are small, and others are done in secret to respect the privacy of families and participants involved. You won't see them here, but we are just as proud of these contributions!
