What IS SEO?
Hi there, my name is Dana and I’m Digital Marketing Specialist in the SEO department here at Real Estate Webmasters. Today I’m going to tell you a little more about What SEO Is and how we achieve customer success through best SEO practices.
Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving your site’s visibility in the search engines to increase the number of visits to your site. There are over 200 ranking factors that the search engines take into consideration when ranking a site, so it’s our job to ensure that your site is optimized in a way that each of these ranking signals are satisfied to the best of our ability.
When our department tackles a new SEO project, we’re making sure we cater a client’s site to two target audiences: // the users and the bots. Not only does the site need user-friendly and relevant content, but all of the site info needs to signal to the bot what the site is for and how it’s useful to the users.
A common misconception for folks who are just getting into SEO is that content is dead, but this simply isn’t the case. Having unique content--meaning it doesn’t exist anywhere else on the web--and useful information on your website is the cornerstone of SEO. Without it, the search engines can’t process the intent of your site, and if they don’t know what the site is for, they can’t deliver it to the right users.
Whether we’re writing content, // changing behind the scenes settings, // or creating social media campaigns, we’re creating a cohesive, engaging online presence for your business so that both the bots and the users will find it highly valuable.
