Best way to Link a Buyer's Guide

Hi REW team,

I’m building a dedicated Buyer’s Guide landing page on my site and want to link to a downloadable PDF. I’ve uploaded the file using Moxie Manager, but I noticed this appears really for images (not pdf).

My goals:

  • Upload the PDF in a way that gives me a clean, branded URL (e.g., /intege-buyers-guide-texas.pdf`)
  • Insert it as a link, not as an image
  • Avoid auto-generated long CDN links like those from ReChat or other tools which is bad for SEO
  • Ideally manage these files somewhere like a File Manager, if that exists or can be enabled

Can you please advise on:

  1. The best way to upload PDFs for clean, permanent URLs
  2. Whether there’s a way to access a proper File Manager or /uploads/ directory directly
  3. How to insert the PDF as a direct link (not image) in the content editor

Thanks in advance — I’m trying to keep everything SEO-optimized and user-friendly.

Jolene,

Upload your PDF into Documents in Moxi.

Paul, thanks for the tip. Ugh, I have now tried this a few different times. I will check with support unfortunately - I keep getting error like this, or it uploads and it is garbled. https://www.integerealty.com/uploads/shared/documents/Intege_Real_Estate_Buying_Guide.pdf

Jolene,

That link is not working, but that is what you want to link to the words Buyers Guide or a picture. Mine is /uploads/shared/documents/Buyers-Guide.pdf

Paul, Thank you - I don’t think the site liked my long name, so I renamed it to Buyers-Guide like your. It is now working  Happy Days…uploads/shared/documents/Buyers-Guide.pdf

Also a pro-tip for long URL’s (such as on listings etc) if you want a short link, you can use the 301 Redirect tool.

You do it in reverse - just call the short name (that doesn’t really exist) the old name, and then insert your long name as the new name.

Like so:

It’s under tools / redirect rules (or directly here /backend/cms/tools/rewrites/)
