There are 3 options for API keys, OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini. The tooltip shows that OpenAI is what will be used for the AI features on our sites. I use Claude pretty exclusively so curious as to what that key is used for. Is that for future features?
That’s a great question!
Open AI is the most cost effective model for REWpert basic chat functions (like helping to write emails or text messages, basic html in snippets, that sort of thing) as well as it’s more than powerful enough for our call transcript, grading and coaching which is why it’s used as the default for internal tools.
The other two keys are for customers who want to use REW’s AI Agency -
I’m not sure if you’ve developed much in Anthropic etc, but it’s important to have a secure way to store, provide your API keys without having to send them in plain text to your REW developers and so you can use those inputs to store your keys if you want to use our AI Agency to build you something custom and you prefer to use Anthropic or Gemini vs Open AI (though candidly they are all equally good for what most people need the “API” bits for.
I’m with you - I’m a power claude code user but that’s more about UI for me than capabilities - if it’s about “the brain” - they are all wicked smart, so I say choose the one that is most cost effective to get the job you need done.
There another (very near tern) use case and that is REWPert 2.0 - if you do in fact prefer Anthropic or Gemini Output, then you can have the new REWPert 2.0 swap models, or you can even have all 3 in there and switch them between prompts if you prefer a different model or context for a different task (but REWPert 2.0 is not released yet)
Bonus update: REWPert 2.0 is REW’s first full MCP powered native AI tool and has direct database access to all of your CRM data, deals etc - so you can ask him "tell my which of my agents made the most calls this week and while you’re at it, add up total pipeline created in the last 3 months and give me both numbers (things like that)
There are a bunch of other cool features of REWPert 2.0 as well
Push button prompts, instant snippet creation / editing, AI powered messaging
It’s looking really awesome!
Thanks for the clarification!
REWpert 2.0 looks awesome. What’s that rollout process like once it’s ready to go? Flip a switch, throw an API key in, and you’re off to the races?
REWPert is a paid tool (I think it’s $100 a month) so when 2.0 releases, customer doesn’t need to do anything, the new one just replaces the old one.
Likely be next release (which is between 60-90 days)
Got it. And is it $100 + consumption from our own AI API of choice or is there some usage built into it that gets consumed before using our own API keys?
In today’s model (subject to change as AI is changing fast) REWPert “includes” AI Consumption based on the OpenAI platform (REW’s default key is used) if you swap to use Claude or Gemini then it would use your tokens instead of ours.
Any other AI powered tools (such as NORE) require you to bring your own key (those are tools we don’t charge for but have cool AI features to unlock if you bring a key)
Got it! Thanks Morgan!
