We have had issues with our email listing updates not going out. Anyone using Mandrill or Sendgrid? Does this better ensure that property listings for saved searches actually get sent out? Any preference between the two? Thanks!
Hey Sean,
SendGrid is supported natively by Google Cloud, so it’s my preference.
The best practice if you’re looking to optimize (or test / adjust) delivery and you’re concerned about being on a shared delivery IP, you can enable your own dedicated IP via SendGrid + REW.
This requires the purchase of the dedicated IP from Sendgrid directly, then REW Support can help you implement.
Hi Morgan, thanks for the reply. I don’t really understand what a “shared delivery IP” is compared to a “dedicated IP”, can you explain that a little further? Is a “dedicated IP” simply the service I’d be purchasing from SendGrid? Thanks.
Sure, happy to help
At REW we “include” Sendgrid as part of our service; however, that service is a “shared” service (meaning many customers access a shared set of resources, including a block of IP addresses assigned to our sending).
Customers desiring more granular control via SendGrid can purchase “their own IP.” In this way, if you want to optimize/adjust your delivery and measure (rinse and repeat), you eliminate any third-party reputation effects or impacts.
It’s honestly not that expensive - Pricing and Plans | SendGrid and is never a bad idea.
