Hey everyone,
Building backlinks is still a good way to build authority (and boost SEO) for your website. I know that some people are struggling to earn them, so I wanted to share these tips on how you can get started:
-
Create good, engaging content: Write blog posts, local guides, or free tools like mortgage calculators that others would naturally want to link to.
-
Share your content: Post your blogs and listings on social media and send them to your contacts. More exposure = higher chances of backlinks.
-
Leverage online profiles: Make sure your website link is on every online profile you have like your brokerage site.
-
Help the community: Participating in charity events or sponsorships can get you links on organizers’ websites. However, even without backlinks, I still encourage you to join outreach programs as a way to give back to the community that supports us.
-
Write guest posts: Offer to write quality articles to relevant sites in exchange for a link in your website.
-
Write testimonials for vendors: Write and give testimonials to lenders, inspectors, stagers, etc., and ask them to include your website link when they post it.
-
Land a spot on resource pages: Find reputable real estate resource pages and ask to have your site included.
-
Research your competition: Check who links to your competitors, reach out, introduce yourself, and see if they’d link to your site too.
-
Leverage collaborations: Work with partners on marketing campaigns or content. You can ask for backlinks naturally, but avoid suggesting you’ll link them in return, since that can violate Google’s guidelines
-
Fix broken links & unlinked mentions: Search for broken links or unlinked mentions of your business and ask the site owners to update them. You can find unlinked mentions of your business or website by typing “[Your Business Name]” -site:[yourwebsite.com] in Google.
