Need a Better Way to Text Leads? Try REW Text!

Raise your hand if you’re always glued to your phone. I know I am! :raised_hands: From catching up on the latest memes to staying on top of work, we’re all a bit obsessed with our mobile devices. For agents constantly on the move, staying connected and updated is important. Leads and clients are most likely on their phones as well, which makes calls and texts an ideal way to reach them. This is why I want to highlight this REW CRM feature: REW Text!

So, what is REW Text? This feature allows you to send and receive text messages and notifications directly through REW CRM. Here’s why you’ll love it:

  • Stay in the Loop: Get instant notifications about new lead activities. This ensures you’re always up-to-date on what’s happening in your pipeline.
  • Automate Your Follow-Ups: You can automate texts through Action Plans. This means you’ll have more time to do other tasks without sacrificing lead engagement—who doesn’t love that?
  • Send Instant Messages: You can easily send text messages in the REW CRM, centralizing your lead management activities in one platform.
  • Retain Communication History: You can access REW Text history which is beneficial when agents decide to move on.

Here’s how to use it:

  • REW Text is powered by Twilio, so connect with your Account Manager to set up your Twilio account.
  • Click the “Text” button (next to call) on the Lead Details page to send a text.
  • You can also click “Texts” in the communication totals to send a text, log texts, and view the text history.

It seems like this isn’t actually a texting feature as we’ve always known it to be (we stopped receiving text notifications for new leads, lead replies, etc). Since we’re paying for the $60/month REW Text module, is this how it’s supposed to function? Seems pretty antiquated to just push notifications and email as a text as opposed to actually texting our phones like it used to. How do we get back to the good old fashioned texting (at least for new lead notifications if nothing else)? Our agents are very reliant on texting (as most people are) and emails have a tendency of getting overlooked. Please help!

Hi Brian, thanks for bringing this up! If you have REW Text enabled in your notification settings and your phone number added to your profile, you should still be receiving text notifications. When you have a moment, could you please confirm if you have those set up? if everything looks correct and you’re still not getting the texts, let us know so we can take a closer look for you.

We figured out the issue but I still have a question; when we’re receiving text messages back from website users (leads), will those be forwarded as actual text messages to our phones? Also, will they use our phone numbers that we have input on the backend on our agent profiles or does it use another virtual number?

Hi @brianpearl - REW Texting uses a twilio number, when a lead replies to you it goes into the CRM but it doesn’t get sent to your personal phone number. We are planning to add a “Text Received” trigger to automations in the future for more options to customize notifications around that!
